Do you know where that regulator is located in the car? May be able to take the module apart and install some filtering. Either that or replace it with a quieter solar charge controller.

Hey, I just discovered the foot lighting and the light that projects onto the console. Where things are? Huh?
I usually don't drive at night but now have started back at Amateur Astronomy. I really look forward to the drive home.

 

The Solar Sun Roof is an amazing option! More cars should have this built in.

But it's only 60 watts of power. I read it uses a big cap in its system to run the stock ventilation fan. That's why it cycles in weak light.

But with only 60 watts available, at the most. Why don't you hams just buy a dedicated PV panel, of the wattage you need, point it at the best angle and not dick with your high tech car for a lousy <60 w?
