Some stupid jerk stole my front bumper tow hook cover

The *cover*? Somebody stole the cover? Jeez. People really are monkeys; they'll steal anything.

And: D'ohh!! I'm going to give up reading English. Apparently I'm getting too old to do it right.

 

i saw the title and figured it was some sort of joke... but guess not... cant imagine why anyone would steal one...

 

I don't think it was stolen. I think the OP has been driving on the sidewalk. Some poor sod is walking around with a blue plug up his back side.

Could be. Or maybe the front bumper was hit while the car was at the grocery store and the cover popped out??

 

Does anyone know how that accident resolved? I searched for more info on the young lady, but found nothing.

I'm curious because I had followed another case similar to it, in Illinois, and just wonder about some of the legal minutiae.

Yep. I just removed mine and put it in the glove box to "keep it safe."

Tried to find something else to order but no go.

 

I was running errands yesterday. I made one stop on my way to the carwash and discovered the passenger side tow hook cover came off in the wash. The owner didn't want to take responsibility, but I told him all was fine just a couple blocks away before arriving, and finally got him to say he'll pay for a replacement after he couldn't confirm on his "video" that it was missing before the wash started. He said it's a "$10 part". Hmmmm, not quite! Dealer quoted $51 minus 10%, plus it needed to be painted. I ordered one thru Toyota Part Cheap online - $18+ with shipping and I still need to have it painted. Anyone else have their tow hook cover go missing?

 

The drivers side cover for the tow hook is missing also!!! I'm trying to get the dealer to have it replaced under warranty. I'm taking it in tomorrow so they can take pics and call Toyota. Bummer!!!! I was told it would have to be painted to match my Blizzard pearl. They should have these pieces painted and ready to sell. Sounds like it's going to be a part to come off easily.
