Yeah I just tested it. That's weird. I'll dig around the back end and have a look.

Yes it still says t.y.r.e when you edit.

Strangely, the US prices are higher. First off, Costco Canada has the $70 (Can) discount (at the till) right now, while the US doesn't. The discounts come and go, both sides of the border. But just comparing regular prices, ignoring the current Canadian discount:

Bellingham, regular price for Michelin Premier 195/65R15 91H: $123.99, plus $15 install and $2.99 tpms rebuild
    (all in US dollars)

Nanaimo (closest Canadian warehouse, currently), same tire: $129.99 (reg. prlce), plus $15 install and $3.99 tpms rebuild
    (all in Can dollars)

    upload_2017-11-14_10-11-5.png

Factor in the conversion, and the current Canadian discount, it's a rout.

I've noticed US tire prices have increased significantly in the last 8 years.

I bought a set of Nokian winter tires for US$460 all in (half the price). I called 6 years after purchase to get replacements after they wore out and it was $600+. Factor in exchange rate and it's still cheaper but barely (talking just a few hundred dollars vs. nearly half price when I bought the initial set). The Canadian prices held roughly steady with minimal price increases.

At least you have Costco pricing options. I am 2 hours away from the nearest 2 Cistco stores and 600+ miles away from a Canadian one.

There is one of them close by, but they are not in the same league as Costco, IMHO.

Actually, I have never seen the $70 Bridgestone tire discount NOT being offered in any print ad, store display or almost daily email offers. What seems to change is the one penny per tire installation/balancing.

    This came in today

Local Costco warehouse tire shops continue to shut down, swamped with snow tire sales. It's not even that cold out, lol. I believe they alternate the $70 off between Michelin and Bridgestone, every 90 days or so? The Michelin discount expires December 03. If that date comes and goes without then being open for business, guess I'll get in gear in a month or two. Disconcerting business model?

I think replacement valve innards and an O-ring or two. It's a few minutes of fiddle work. You can waive it, maybe warranted in our case, it's been 8 years.

It replaces the O-rings and valve stem if it's rubber. Really, it's the TPMS equivalent of replacing the valve stem.
With age, those components will degrade, which can lead to leaks.

Good idea, but I think when I did the math up the page, it was close to being a wash, before the exchange rate. The one cent install reduces that but I think I'd still come out ahead, up here. If I can ever get in lol.

Too, even it was slightly advantageous, I'd rather stay local, we're not driving that much, that'd be a long haul.

I suspect (hope!) the local Michelin $70 discount will be back on around the end of January, and the wheels in question are sitting in the garage, snow tires are on the car.

Well, the Michelin sale that never was. 4 pm, last day of the $70 off Michelin discount, all lower mainland Costco tire shops still shut down. I'm going into fox-and-the-grapes mode, think those OEM Pilots can maybe go another year. Still decent tread, but manufacture date February, 2009, maybe...

    IMG_7875.JPG

I think they'll have another sale, before Spring, will reconsider then I guess. Does that cracking look too far gone, and the tread starting to chip off?

Looks to me like an accident looking for a place to happen! :ROFLMAO:

It's up to you, but I don't need that much extra risk in my life.

I would not want anyone I love to be using these. Yes, "some" tread left but age cracks and chunking is pretty bad.

Try calling Costco corporate to see if you can solve this mystery.

What is Costco Wholesale Canada's contact information?
