Speedometer calibration available yet?

Low limits on speed may exist but I don’t see them around here even on our 85 mph tollway.

 

Good, having owned a 2002 Honda Odyssey where a class action settlement was reached regarding a similar problem with the odometer, I was afraid the same would be happening here.

Subaru settled a similar class action suit over odometer error, mostly by giving a 2% extension on the mileage portion of the warranty. I received the legal notices on both my Honda, and my Subaru, even though neither suffered the alleged "defect". By that time, both my subject vehicles were long long long past their warranties.

My replacement Subaru now has a very significant odometer error in the other direction! Seemingly, some safety margin against any repeat of the lawsuit.

 

Speedo overstating the speed comes up every so often; it is not the same as odometer error. And it’s by design.

FWIW if you hook up something like Scangauge, it’ll display more accurate speed, using the car’s internal data.
