Close to where cars usually get swiped by other cars, but looks quite expressive to me. Check where MB plug-in puts its plug!

Oh, keep dreaming. They always keep the best features for overseas. Or to be more accurate TMS insists on nixing some of the most useful features to save every penny (height adjustable 2G seats, anyone?).

I think I need to see this vehicle in person, or even more pictures.

Can't get a feel for whether I like the rear end.

My first reaction, is nothing so much that it looks bad, but just that it looks so much like so many other things.
And with all that window towards the rear, I think at least in the photo's thus far, it makes The Prius look long or butt heavy.

But general first reaction is that The Prius now looks a cousin to The Hynduai Elantra. And just about every other striving to look "sporty" vehicle being marketed. Which I guess is inevitable. But for some reason disappointing to me.

So oddly I say, it looks good...and I'm not sure I like it.

Boy these photos really remind me of the Ford Probe! Not sure that is a good thing. :D

So when is Mazda due to adopt Toyota hybrid powertrains?

I hope you're right, Danny, because it sort of looks like the rear end of a Ford Probe, at least from these angles.

Not that I really care how my cars look (styling is probably the lowest category on my priorities list) but that looks pretty decent to me, at least with these limited shot angles.

I hate to be negative, but my first reaction was disappointment. I own a 2007 Prius that has been one of the best cars I have ever owned. I love all the room in the back. When the PriusV came out I thought the roof sloped back too much and hurt the storage, even though they said the cargo room increased 50%. This new one seems like it slopes too much in the back, hurting rear storage. It hardly looks like a hatchback.
I use my 2007 for my business now, and folks are amazed I carry tools and three ladders in it, including a 17' little giant ladder and a 20' telescoping ladder. Now I know most people would never to this, but it goes to show how roomy the Gen2 Prius is. I cannot wait to see this in person and hopefully the other advances will woo me. Prius always meant different and distinctive.....perhaps those days are coming to an end...

I'm disappointed as well. I expected a lot more from Toyota to deliver something different yet attractive. This almost makes me want to hate the environment . I'm hoping it looks better in person.....

Be thankful for what you have. The 2010 is the best looking Prius IMO.

Can someone help me understand why the internet is ablaze saying it looks like a Ford Probe? I don't see the resemblance.

I went for a BMW too... then I hit a pothole and it cost 3500.00 for wheels and tires.

I think they're referencing the resemblance of the C pillar and how the side windows wrap around the pillar from the side of the vehicle to the rear. At least that's the minor resemblance I see, but the whole vehicle looking like the Probe... Uhm, nope, not seeing that.

    Yes.

Coming from the lightly-used, smoothly-paved suburbs of LA to the potholed/bad-rail-junction/badly-repaved streets of Bay Area, CA, you quickly learn that low-profile, sport sedan tires/wheels are the wrong things to have. It didn't take me very long to realize that I should have opted for the OEM option of 16" rims for my Lexus IS300. I was lucky to have only bubbled a tire... but every impact made me wish to have opted for a smaller rim + narrower tires for both everyday streets and Tahoe trips, then keep a set of low-profile summer play wheels on the side.

Such was what figured into my decision to get a Prius and stay with the 15" rims... and then keeping the Lexus as a play car (until the new ND Miata becomes a better-known quantity, and prices go down).
