SRS airbag sensor locations? (When is 12V disconnect a must?)

It seems Toyota always put 12V disconnect as the first step of any disassemble instruction, sometimes with scary SRS airbag warnings. I suppose the reason is that if the airbag sensor got bumped it might deploy? If so then where are the sensors? I know taking out the MFD doesn't need 12V disconnect (maybe I was just lucky?). How about the FRONT PILLAR GARNISH CORNER PIECES

    ?

Would the airbag even go off when the car is IG-OFF? I suppose it would to protect someone sleeping in the car?

    Please advise. Thanks!
