I agree. I have the silver and I think it matches well with the silver on the steering wheel and the door pulls.

Installed my black/green Stage 10 shifter today ( 5 min plug and play) in my Prius Five. Looks and works great! Toshi shipped the it out the day I ordered and he answers emails very quickly.

Slightly unrelated but ever since I installed my ESS, I have gotten into the habit of using the "B" a LOT to slow down vs braking from a distance. I fear that the constant switching between and "D" and "B" will have some ill effect down the road. Can someone confirm or deny this?

Well I broke down and went with the OGS shifter, so I could change the color of the lights. It came and all instruction were in Japanese. But I found a video that kind of helped for the changing of the lights. I had already saw a few installs on how to take out the old and install the new. They were right, no time at all I had the old one in my hand. Then I looked at the new one. That's were the problem lies. I didn't see that it only fits 2010-2012 models. I have a 2013 which has two sets of wires coming off the shifter, and then new one only has one set of wires coming off. Even the wire connectors are different.
Does anyone know if they even make a shifter for the 13's? Is there anyone one out there that might be interested in buying this one. It was never installed and only half taken out of the box. I have a few days before I have to send it back. I guess there is a place here to put it up for sale.

I read over the last 14 pages and did search on this item & saw conflicting info.
Will this work on a 2013 Prius? I saw someone say it wouldn't and they were going to return it. The website says 2009 +.
I'm just trying to make sure before I order it.
    Thanks
    Al

Al, don't order it, they don't fit. I guess it's up to 2012 model year. The 2013 has two sets of wires on the oem shifter. The OGS ( I think the Stage 10 and Tom"s from what I've seen on line) only have one set of wires, and the connector on the OGS is also different. They are correct about easy of installation. If the connections had been right it would have been about 15 minutes all toll (getting tools out and putting them away).
Also any directions were in Japanese with the OGS.
I did see on Tom's site that something new was coming out later this year for the Prius shifter.

Does anybody know if someone makes a shifter for the 2013 Prius? Thanks in advance for any help.

I stand corrected. Thanks Vitaliy Then only the OGS doesn't fit. That is for sure unless they have different models and I got the wrong one. I'll have to see if I can catch the Stage 10 guys at work. lol

OGS does not fit 2013's. The Stage10 does, check with support and they verified it.

I bought one yesterday. I have to say the customer service at Stage 10 is the best I have had from anyone in a long time. Questions answered immediate. I asked to have it overnighted, so he ran down to Fed ex, but it was going to cost $61 extra so he ran back to the shop and called me to see if I really wanted to pay that much. I said no and he went back to Fed ex again and shipped it regular Fed ex. How often do you get service like that?

UCSMFU, I would have contacted you about yours but I was in a big hurry and just wanted it shipped right away. Thanks for the offer.

I bought from my understanding the original ESS, the one from APR. Stage 10 i believe work with APR to produce the LHD version.

I'm RHD and in UK, but strangely when arrived it was a weird silver gold colour that matches nothing inside the car! So I had to put a light coat I silver paint over the top to match door handles and steering wheel! You can still read the writing around the bottom if the ESS and vaguely see the Prius picture but when that's light up at night now it's actually the same brightness as the buttons so perfect.

    Some photos before and after. Bottom 2 are after paint. image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg

Just wondering. What do you do with the old shifter? Is there a market for those used shifter? I don't see it being sold on eBay.

Paint looks awesome. How did you avoid painting over the writing? I'd think a lot of people would paint over the branding if they had a choice and leave just the outline of the car exposed to light up.

You do see the OEM Prius shifter knob itself selling on eBay, but I don't see how there would be a market for the entire shifter given that they rarely fail and can't be transplanted on other models. More likely, those with the electronic shifter just retain it in case they sell the car so as not to hurt the resale value.

I simply bought a spray can that was the best match silver to the cars inner silver sections. I took the ESS apart so the top was separate an did a very think spray over it all. So thin you can still see the writing and the Prius picture and writing below that.
