everyone. A friend of mine, today, suddenly could not get his Prius 08 started, because the press start button was blinking red, instead of a steady green light on the button.

The fob key works perfectly closing and opening the doors.

I have told him to disconnect the battery (12v), and see what happens.

    The situation is still same.

    Can anyone help with ideas?

Would also tell em to scan for codes.

    Thanks guys!

What’s the voltage of the 12v battery and how long has it been in service?

Would have my friend check the battery today.

    Thanks a lot!

also, the fob can work with a low battery, but not start the car. and make sure the brake light switch is working.
