Starting at 64 MPG with daily updates

It's not PRACTICAL to drive 600 miles at 30-40 mph, but it is possible.

If the real test is 600 miles at higher average speeds, still getting 60mpg, I assure you that it still can be done. Won't be me doing it, but I'm very confident that it CAN be done.

 

yeah I would say around 60 mph is where I can get 60 mpg + or -. I am thinking at 55 mph it would be more along the 63-65 mpg range maybe more. obviously really variable based on terrain and weather. I went to Cincinnati and back yesterday (280 miles round trip) and my round trip was 61.5 mpg on the MFD. the way there I was running a little late so my cruize was 69-71 mph much of the way for 57.4 mpg when I got there, on the way back I set it at 61-62 and I hit rain, and it still rose to 61.5 mpg when I pulled in my driveway. so I calculate approx 66 mpg on the way back to overtake the low 57 on the way there, but temps were warmer in the PM.

so many factors it drives you crazy lol. this car is downright AMAZING

 

Agreed. I just finished a 512 mile tank at 59mpg with an average indicated speed of 49mph. I stuck to an average speed of 60mph and have major hills to contend with on my commute. I started this tank with 210 miles of freeway only driving at 60mph and sat at 59mpg indicated. On flat roads I could see 60+mpg as totally possible if speeds are kept at 60mph or less.
