I get your point, but it distracts a little bit from my OP. My suggestion was not to "blow off the line" but to accelerate more agressively than most cars behind and beside you at 60% EV up to 25mph, 70% EV up to 34mph, and 80% above 34mph with virtually no penalty to EV range. Taking the worst case misinterpretation of my results would indicate a .5 mile total EV range reduction over the course of 17 accelerations, not just one, and would ignore the benefit of getting over 2 minutes of your life back in doing so.

Yes, I was agreeing with your OP, stepping-on-itat 60/70/80% in a Prius is a fine thing, and something every PiP Owner should enjoy and have some fun.

I'd prefer that. If someone can figure a way to switch the PWR button to behave like EV City mode, that would be an awesome hack. I wonder if it's as simple moving the wire from one pin on the ECU to another. Or maybe it's some sort of software setting via a hidden configuration menu or requires a special programmer.

Anyhow, I really don't understand the point of a mode that makes it easier to start HV. A mode that makes it harder to start HV makes perfect sense, tho'.
