my daughters car, 2012 prius... key fob stolen ... she is parked in a very low ceiling underground parking area...parked at the last parking stall (farthest away from entry) that is against a wall on two sides - engine facing wall and passenger side facing wall.. very little room between trunk of her car and row of cars on opposite side of the parking area.
dealer says have car towed will cost $600.00 to reprogram car
Question is how to get car towed out of underground parking and is there anyway to have the key programing come to parked location.
she had to leave and is out of town for a week.. but faces this mess when she comes back to denver

    this is a mess...

Try calling local locksmiths. Also if you have AAA, they will pay a portion of the replacement key cost

There are links to program a new key fob. I recommend program new one and delete one of the old key. Otherwise they will steal her car. You can buy key from them. Make sure you get the right key. There are links on here how to use techstream to program it yourself.

This is not an option if you've lost all keys

My bad. I thought he only lost one key. If you lose all I think they have to replace the ECU + key

part of the problem is if it really has to be towed there is no way that tow truck can get to car

No, they are no suppose to break anything. They are locksmiths....not firemen. Explain to them your situation and see what options they offer you. You want to look for a locksmith that can help you make a key that can start the car. Not all locksmiths are the same, you would need to call a few before you find what you're looking for.

welcome! they can jack up the car, and put dollies under the wheels, then roll it out to the tow truck. ask the towing company when you call.
shop dealers too, they are competitive.
