Straight pipe exhaust from the converter(VERY LOUD)

    That's supplied by the turbo pop-off valve...

    interesting read there. always wanted a supercharger... but stickin up out of the hood over a hemi or a 427.

    well if they get upset you can call a waaaaaaambulance...
    no matter what you do to a prius, it will never be as loud as the drag pipes on my shovelhead. I like it when it sets off car alarms.

    I guess it depends on where you live. never had a noise ticket except once in 1979 after the muffler on my 1st Chevelle fell off.

    Interesting! It sounds nicer than I expected it would, and at least from the videos, it doesn't seem as loud as I anticipated. I think my '85 Toyota 4wd with a mostly-intact exhaust system (with a few rust holes) is louder. I don't imagine your sound level would attract too much negative attention...a lot of the cars on the road around here are probably louder and do have mufflers. And it's probably a few orders of magnitude quieter than some of the choppers...

    a few orders of magnitude quieter at WOT than my chopper at idle...
    I must confess I had to put baffles in the drag pipes. it was so loud with open pipes at highway speeds it made my whole head ring, painfully loud.
