Strange Acetone / Nail Polish Remover Smell

Hey there,

I took a short trip this weekend and drove my Prius a little over 1k miles. We ran the heat and A/C pretty much the entire time. One night on the trip we all noticed this intense acetone-like smell.


The smell only is when the AC system is on - seems to be both hot and cold. It lingers for quite some time as well.

I cannot seem to find much about anyone having this issue. Maybe a refrigerant leak? Or a filter of sorts?
