A carbon fiber hood would look better.

Well, stripes is stripes, but once they are wider than about 3 inches,
they tend to suggest the much abused in the late 60's/early 70's
    [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Racing_stripe"]"racing stripes." [/ame].

OK, they had a valid purpose and are a time-tested tradition on the
    race track.

However, on a Prius a racing stripe or stripes would suggest a go-fast
ability that just isn't there. Thinking so would lie somewhere on a line
    going through:

wishful thinking ----> "little white lie" ----> delusion ----> hallucination

What the heck, let's bring back the codpiece too.

I've thought about two-tone. I'd like to see a navy below the belt line of my silver, but I always find better things to do with my $$

Sorry to say but that looks like a Prius that's been ran over by a dually.

Alright, alright! I get it. Going loco on wheels, tires, suspensions, and spoilers is allowed. But god forbid going into the realm of paint jobs, because the community drills you a new one.

==I have no clue how to quote/reply to ppl using forum tools, but here I go manually==

spiderman --> you are right it is not a sports car, but aren't most of the mods to make it look more sportsy?

Rokeby --> have you modded you car at all? I guess installing coilovers is a hallucination, or for that matter changing the wheels, right?

cproaudio --> you are right, it's like the coyote was run over by one of his contraptions. And my photoshop skills are not there.

Wo now, you gotta remember there are mostly old fuddy duddies on here. I think "most" of the mods just make it look bearable. Some mods are over the top (IMO).

Members here have done plenty with the paint jobs. bino's carbon fiber hood, drunkin master's blacked out lower bumper (as well as the cool graphics he had at one time for a car show), Rodney's new graphics and the blacked out rear end he used to have. However, unlike traditional stripes which are as silly as "Making the Prius fast," their mods are consistent with the style of their cars.

Yes, those are awesome looking vehicles.

So, no one is adding flames to sides and hood?

Custom paint job is always welcome but there are certain stripe jobs that just wont fit a Prius. Paint strips on the top of the Prius isn't one of them. Pin striping on the side of the car is OK because it adds styling, not turn it into a rice burner.

    Yes.

    In this old photo, you can see eight of the 18 changes I've made to my car;
inside, outside, under the hood, under the car.

Reread my earlier comment. It solely addresses my opinion on the
matter of go-faster stripes on a Prius.

Getting a little testy, aren't we?

I would say that wheel and suspension mods are substantive.
But that would be a matter best addressed in a different thread.

    That's awesome!

Let me see if I can guess

    1. mud guards
    2. shark fin
    3. wheels
    4. rear under fender
    5. bumper guard
    6. rear spoiler?
    7. I am not too familiar with your model, but is there something also with your paint job?
    8. springs
BTW, I had no clue about the overall sentiment regarding "go-faster stripes." It is not just a no-no prius owner thing, but an overall don't be rowdy type thing.

    Thanks!

I saw a black Prius with gold pinstripes along the side. I thought it looked real nice. It drove by too fast to take a picture of it.

Obviously, it was nowhere near as drastic as some of the above pictures. But I thought it was tastefully done.

    macmaster05,

    Nicely done.

On a technicality, there are actually 9 mods visible.
There are two, one of a kind stickers on the quarter glass.
Above the reflective silver HYBRID, there is also a transparent
red "prius" in the OEM script and size on a black background.
