Stripped the oil pan on 2010, labor hours

    Getting it 'straight" is pretty easy with a tap and handle and tough with a short 3/4 inch self tapping plug.

    If there's any chance of getting the 500lb gorilla out of the room and getting the op back in, what did eventually ensue?

    Pity to replace the pan if yer only going to strip it again, or if you can find the offending party and get them to stop using a torque wrench set at 200 ft lbs, a 14mm nut isn't easy to strip... a 5 mm nut is easy;)

    I might have stripped it myself or one of the guy who changes my oil replaced it with an aftermarket nut. I honestly don't know. At this point, I just have to hope the thing stays and it will make it till the next oil change. I already wasted 5 quarts of oil last time.
