Hi ladies and gents! I was looking at a Tanabe strut tower bar on ebay for my 2004 prius. I asked the seller since his listing mentioned only 2005-2009 to confirm if he meant to include 2004. He said the Tanabe's are not compatible with the 2004 Prius. Is this true? If so what tower bar should I be looking at for my 2004 Prius? I already have the Rude person's brace in there so I am hoping to complete the mod with the tower bars. Thank you guys!

Thank you! I am assuming there's no further modifications needed to fit that into my 04 correct?

That I'm not sure. You may want to give them a call to double check. They're very helpful..

I have the tanabe strut bar installed on my 2006 prius. Easy install. No modification needed, but you will need to remove some of the cowling.

Whats your current mileage and have you guys ever replaced your struts? I bought mine at 149k but in reviewing the service records I don't see any evidence that it's been replaced. I'm thinking I should prob get them done when I am ready to put the tower bar on.

I replaced mine (struts, mounts and bushings) at about 140k. I went with the KYB Excel-G strut. It has a lifetime warranty. Huge difference in ride quality.

Did you do all 4 wheels? I think mine needs new ones too as the ride is pretty harsh when hitting uneven pavements or potholes.
    Did
