    Mercedes has been doing that for decades.
    Plus, you don't need to use the footbrake when parking, except maybe on a steep hill.

    My wife hates the slight roll-back you get if parking brake isn't applied. Me too I guess. So we always apply it, though just moderately on level ground.

    I hate the roll-back as well. I'm not sure if it's related to my migraines but I find it very disorientating when it happens. A couple times since I've owned my 2010 Prius, the brake regen has gotten stuck on me. I'd let off the gas and the eco bar would go half way into the regen part of the bar. It's usually just a tiny bit in it. I think turning the car off and on again fixed it. Don't know how it was caused and it hasn't happened this year so far.

    But if your car is hit from the front or behind hard enough, the transmission will be damage because the parking brakes weren’t engaged.
