I'm not sure if this has been posted before so please forgive me if it has. I found this in depth study which shows the total lifetime carbon footprint of a PIP vs Prius vs a traditional gas vehicle. It is quite interesting and considers the production of batteries and disposal when calculating totals.

If you scroll to the bottom you can see the chart with the totals. Definitely de-bunks the myth that the battery production nulls any advantage from the better fuel economy.

No problem. I think it would also be interesting to compare cars such as the volt, leaf and VWs TDIs as well.

Can you please give me the name of the study, or where it can be found?

Hoping to hear from you soon
    Thank you,

What would be more interesting would be to find out who funded the study. Kinda like the sugar industry funding a study against Sweet-N-Low.
