I put a piece of cardboard on a stick, like those masks people where for masquerade balls, and my wife will hold it up for me. :)

May I remind you that on a camping trip there is no couch to sleep on.

My best effort was 125 kph (77.7 mph) with MFD showing 5.0 l/100 km (47 MPG) on a flat road from lake Garda to Venice (Italy). I wouldn't call 65 mph a "highway speed", not for the Europe standards ;)

Is that the road that curls around the lagoon over to the airport?
(Have driven around there but not recently.)
I am very impressed you could get that mpg at that speed on a flat road at sea level!
Did you have tailwinds or use special methods to obtain that result?
    Any other "Prius secrets"?
    Thanks for the report!
Ps: you are of course correct that speeds on the Autostrada and Autobahnen are way higher than the USA typical speeds. That section of Colorado where I did the 65-65 trick had a speed limit of 75 and I was varying from 60-70, so well below the speed limit and the prevailing speed of car traffic. Only possible to do when traffic density is very low, and some of the heavily loaded trucks had to do roughly the same pattern of slow uphill and faster downhill, so that helped people not get too upset at my variations.

The road is from Verona to Venice, there is new section (I think 2-3 years old) of Autostrada that goes way around Venice avoiding much of the traffic that always got me stuck there.

Traffic was thick but at very consistent speed with no need for braking, maybe this adds something to wind resistance. Maybe worn down 15" Ecopia EP001s tyres did the trick ;) and of course MFD cheats in reality this was around 44 MPG, I didn't check the wind so don't know.
