Looks like it may be the end of our 2005 friend. Waiting for the adjuster's decision but I'm guessing this may be totaled. So I may be looking for a replacement. This was a very slow speed impact, like 5 mph or less by each car.

If you think it is repairable, you don't need to surrender the car. Autobeyours.com and others specialize in repairing Gen-II's.

It was another 2001 Toyota Corolla. Both cars were at a 4 way stop intersection. My wife took off from the stop sigh, got a little more than half way through the intersection and the oncoming Corolla left her stop sign, made a left turn directly into the side of the Prius, hitting it with the Corolla's driver side bumper behind the Prius bumper.

Yeah, I was surprised at the damage but as you say, it is soft there. We'll see around the beginning of the week I guess.

it all depends on the value of the car. you've got a fender, door, and whatever else. how many miles on her? the wheel and interior may be fine.

The wheel was hit, new tire flattened. Door is jammed. The wheel hit is a bit bothersome...suspension, steering, possible drivetrain shift. The car has 180,000 and was otherwise in very good condition and loaded but no leather. Battery pack still seemed in excellent condition mostly running in the green. Still getting 55 at 55.

11 model year old vehicle, I'd be absolutely shocked if it wasn't totaled.
    Start looking/thinking about replacement now.

So the insurance company totaled the 05 with 186,000 miles. It had $4200 damage and they're paying the claim for $4700 after the $500 rebate. They say the salvage value of the car is $471. Just thought someone might like to know.

Purchased a 2010. Guess I'll move over to the Gen3 forums now. Still miss my 05.
