    Hi everyone,

I'm new here. I just purchased a retired 2014 NYC Taxi Prius V. For the first week, I got 43 MPG over 128 miles. Suddenly, it seems as if I hit a button that turned off the EV or Hybrid mode. The engine is constantly running and no arrows on the energy monitor. Hopefully a wire came loose somewhere or it is a simple fix?

Any help will be appreciated. Also, if you know of a reasonable mechanic to help me here in the Bronx, NY or lower Westchester County, NY please let me know.

    all the best...

    welcome!

generally speaking, you get a dash light with a corresponding trouble code on a reader if there is a problem. it is possible that you have a bad 12v, or a weak hybrid battery.

Any updates on your problem? How many miles are on yours? Where did you get it? It seems like most of the retired ones are cannibalized for parts. I also have a 2014 retired NYC taxi. Technically, I guess I'm the one that retired it because I bought it a bankruptcy auction and converted it to private use.

Assuming it's not already fixed, why don't you take it to one of the garages that specialize in T&LC work in LIC. They see these cars everyday.
