SUP (Surf) Board Roof Rack or Box? Options?

I have a gen 3 (no sun roof). I'm purchasing a stand up paddleboard this coming year (big surfboard if you aren't familiar). I haven't decided on whether I'm going with a hard or inflatable board, but either way it will be transported on the roof of the vehicle. It seems like the yakima Q towers with round bars and pads might be my best/ cheapest bet? Are there any specific parts numbers I need to know? Bar width? I'm also thinking about going with a roof box, assuming I get an inflatable board, as it would probably be a little more aerodynamic and secure/ theft proof -which is a big bonus for me. I saw a member here running a yakima sky box on some thule aero bars and it looked pretty clean... Thoughts? Input?
