Hello, I am wondering if anyone here is familiar with the shock absorbers/suspension used in the Prius Prime and also in the 4th gen Prius? Curious if they are different or the same. My parents were driving my Prius Prime and they noted that the shock absorber feel of the ride was not as good as the 4th gen Prius that they normally drive. For myself, I cannot tell but then again I need to do some more testing and pay closer attention. Originally I thought since these two cars are similar, the suspension would be similar but maybe that is not the case?
Check out Off Road Prius. He has videos on Gen 4 Suspension swap with the rear springs. I'd imagine that due to the weight of the extra big battery in the Prime that the Engineers spece'd a higher spring rate in the Primw which might make it feel firmer when empty.
Maybe their 4th Gen is a Touring model, with 17-inch wheels. That would make a difference. Also, there's the extra battery weight in the Prime as was mentioned.
