Has anyone changed the sway bars on their gen4? I haven't come across one thread of anyone doing it and wondering how involved it is.

Installed so far 3 sets, tricky part is that you will need to lower the Front subframe to install the front Sway Bar.

Here is a pic of one of the installs. If anyone in the SoCal region, give me a DM for an installation quote

I figured the front subframe would have to be dropped... Roughly how many labor hours is this? I just ordered a front and rear set and was going to take it to a local shop for install but wanted a vague idea of how long it would take.

It’s about 4 to 5 hours with the right tools. The rear is easy so no biggie

This might not be the right place to ask, but what benefits does a sway bar provide?

They limit body roll on turns. Just ordered a rear one.

Are you AWD? Just assuming based on your username. Please be sure you are getting the one for the AWD. The standard one won't fit.

I've done both front and rear already and the car feels completely different on turns. It's amazing.

Where did you go to buy hardrace suspension and the AWD specific sways? Zvw55 search for sways kinda zeroed me out ahaha.

Another question: there are sway bars already; you're sub'ing a stiffer, larger diameter bar?

I got my hardrace stuff here :

HARDRACE TOYOTA PRIUS 4th XW50 2015–present Arm, Bar and Brace, Bushing, Engine Mount, Sway Bar, Stabilizer Link and others.

The rear subframe brace does not work on the ZVW55. It will rub on the bolts on the rear motor. Makes a slight banging sound. I still have mine on as it doesn't bother me that much.

As for the other stuff, I've been buying from Rakuten JP and using ZenMarket as a proxy shipping service. Still comes out cheaper than buying from US vendors and plus, US vendors RARELY have Zvw55 specific stuff. However, zenmarket is EXTREMELY slow at the moment. Maybe a month to get stuff.

Rhdjapan is also very good and I should have just ordered stuff through them but I had some Rakuten cashback and used it. Rhdjapan also doesn't have everything. I ordered some TOM'S RACING products and used Rakuten/zenmarket to get my things

I am in OC, and I was wondering how much you would charge for installation on a 2016 prius?
