My 05 goes through a tail light a year, not sure why. Always the left one. The only thing that breaks is the running light, should I try replacing just the light or keep replacing the whole model? Anyone have one they buy that doesn't burn out every year?

sounds like high voltage or corrosion.

Yes 2 things come to mind the connector is corroded like bisco said and your are not using the factory bulb. The factory bulbs are much higher quality than Phillips or anything else you can buy at a parts store.
    Last years longer,
So take the bulbs plugs off and look at them real closely for corrosion and while your at it check if you have a water leak in the trunk which is really common. Take spare tire out and check for signs of water and get flashlight and look in the bottom of the 12 volt well for standing water. A small swimming pool of water in the trunk tends to create a lot if moisture and corrode the cars electronics.
