I'm wondering if ordering the garnish in the color matched OEM black color (even though my car is Blue Streak) will be a good combo of both the tint look and the garnish look.. ? I'm so tempted but I don't know which I like more!
were you able to order the garnish pre painted in summer rain? I was under the impression that summer rain is not available on the aqua, but a different shade of light blue is....
To be honest the color I ordered was Cool Soda Metallic 8V7 and the match is close, I think it would be closer if the car and paint were new but my car is 1.5 yrs old and has never been garaged so the paint is a little faded. The pics don't really show thw difference in shade.
I'd like to see a pic too. I was told by my local vinyl shop that they couldn't do it because of the c's vortex generators. How did your shop deal with those?
I may still plastidip the garnish just want to see if I like it the way it is and than remove the dip from the spoiler.
I'm thinking plastidip the tail light itself? (Just the side of course). Can this be done without sanding on the tail light? I know nothing about the stuff just from guys on here who say it peels off? Might be a way to save myself $200+ and get a similar look?
Hmm I smell a weekend project.. The garnished look does indeed look much improved over stock in my opinion.
I was able to get mine from an eBay store for $220 shipped, from Japan. Quoted $202 for the garnish itself. I also purchased the bumper garnish as well so I got a discount on shipping.
I have since pulled the plastidip off of the light (it wasn't perfect which doesn't fly with me and also I wanted to see how easy it comes off since I have no prior experience with the stuff.) Just thought you guys might like to see what flat black on dark blue looks like. They didn't have the glossifier stuff at Home Depot so I'm just going to experiment and see how things go with what I've got. My phone takes different toned pictures that make the color contrast different; I've included some of each.
