Telephone Survey

    Okay, so I get home from work, and the phone rings. It's an automated survey, the kind where you press the keys to indicate your responses.
    I figure, yeah, okay, whatever, I can do this, I'm not too busy...
    It starts out simple enough. She says that the results are for a network report tonight....

    So, will it be on the David Letterman show??

    Is the nation going the right direction? yes or no
    Are you Republican or Democrat? (others listed, too...)
    Male or Female....
    Age category...
    Income category....

    Then, it gets weird...

    Do you hire someone to clean on a regular basis?
    Have you ever had a mullet?
    Does it take over an hour for you to get ready in the morning?
    Do you think women use PMS as an excuse to be crabby?

    After about 10 minutes of really random questions, it's Thank you for your time! click.

    I am fairly sure it is against UL telecommunication laws to have an automated recording system making calls. Whenever I get this and if it is not "A friendly reminder from Blockbuster" I imediately hang up. No one has the right to take your time form you without compensating you.

    They may get around US telecom laws by calling you from India or something. I don't know.

    Well, I was hoping someone would have seen the results of this survey on TV last night, and would let me know which network show so desperately needed to know if I knew any Scientologists! (that was another one of the questions...)
