    The newly-developed 12 V Nimh battery by Panasonic for start-stop vehicles does not substitute the SLI lead acid battery.

    An electric ute (pick-up) or delivery van makes perfect sense. High torque, short trips, stopped in city traffic, back to base for charging. Of course, I'm assuming that a pick-up is used by tradespeople and delivery drivers or some other pursuit and not merely as a manhood-analog.

    While I am sympathetic to Tesla's cause, I don't care to invite the federal government into usurping state rule making. The federal rule making enabled the banks to cross state borders and bypass the crafted controls that were developed over decades and we know where that got us with the S&Ls and then the Too Big To Fail banks.
