You are welcome to your opinion.
The question is, are there enough people that disagree with you for Tesla to sell all they can make?
So far, the answer is yes (y)

I need to do that ... maybe Sealy Posturepedic mattress needs someone to daily test out their production - wonder what they pay for a talented person for sleeping on the job.

their leadership is either manned by a bunch of liars or complete incompetence. Otherwise how could so many other manufacturers be setting goals to be plugin's in the not-too-distant future. Plus - they get a big batch of carbon offset credits that they use for their Hemi vehicles and land barges. Oh, I guess they're not supposed to factor in that, or their big loss story loses its teeth.

So I went to the Tesla quarterly reports and a recent announcement of Q-2 2018 to get the quarter-by-quarter, Model 3, production numbers. I graphed them and projected a likely path for Q-3 2018:
My best guess is ~100k by end of 3d quarter and about 70k for each subsequent quarter. This assumes no foreign sales effects due to events outside of Elon's control.

Well it outsells those. Luxury means different things to different people.
Large Luxury Car Sales In America – May 2018 | GCBC

Through may of this year the tesla leads the number 2 mercedes S class + number 3 porsche panerama put together. The LS greatly improves on last year to number 4 in the class.

Definitely a tesla model S, or even a model 3 D will give smoother power delivery and better responsiveness than those "Luxury" cars. It can't provide the engine note, but lets face it if you want that you want something different than those cars as well.

Fit and Finish, well you have to give it to the germans and Lexus, but it appears the people buying luxury cars give other things a higher importance. One thing that may be screwing with the numbers, that makes tesla absolutely dominate the large luxury car segment is that they don't have a 5 or E sized offering. People wanting that may be moving up to the model S.

I'm not sure where this comes from in any book. Maybe you heard trouble with 5k a week and thought it was a month. Last week tesla made 5K model 3s and 2K model X and S cars. The production for the quarter was 53,339 or an average of 17,772 cars a month, but of course June was highest and the rest of the year should be much higher than this average, although it is doubtfull that tesla will be able to maintain 5K model 3s in July as they grabbed people from other lines and paid overtime to get there in June. It is likely August through December production is at 25K cars a month or higher if they can get the paint shop configured for higher volume.
