The Tesla S just started shipping to europe, and are production constrained. We should wait a year, until production is up to see how big of a market share the tesla S will be. In denmark pre-orders of the bmw i3 were huge. Scandinavia with their tax structure and attitudes, may have very high plug-in penetration. Long distance trips are typically done by train, plane, or boat and not driving, so one of the main drawbacks in the US isn't a problem there.

if their taxes stay the same, they will certainly sell a lot of EVs and PHEVs.

Now question is - for those of you against government intervention - wouldnt it be better for same to happen around the world? Main problem is that this currently happens only in several smaller countries, so sales are going to be limited as well as worldwide impact.
