An example is the registration for Matt Jefferies plane, which was NC-17740. Since he designed the Enterprise from ST:TOS, it's interesting how close those numbers are. :)

You of course have heard about the rather rotund woman who asked the ticket clerk if they put descriptions of the passnager on the baggage tags. "No, why do you ask?" was the response. She was really pissed of because her bad said FAT on it... turns out it was because she was flying into Fresno.

    :p

    More airport trivia.
We've all seen the airport rotating beacons flashing away at night. If they are flashing during daylight hours, the local weather is below Visual Flight Rules tolerances. Do you know how to tell one type of airport from another?

Civilian airport: green and white at 22-26 flashes per minute.
Military air station: a green flash followed by two quick, white flashes at 16-20 flashes per minute.
Heliport: green, yellow, and white at 33-39 flashes per minute. (there is no military heliport designation with the two white flashes)
Water airport: white and yellow at 22-26 flashes per minute.

Try it while flying at night. You will see quite a few if you look.
