The idea of EV is great, but the reality is they are quite expensive. I'm not too happy too see the price of Leaf jump from in the $32k's to up over $35k now. What's up with that?

Focus electric is supposed to be $39k. Hello, that's $$.

My sister lives in Concord, over 40 miles from here. There is hardly a way I could do a round trip in a Leaf. I have no idea how I'd plug in over there to get the 5 mi/hr range.

I think the PiP is going to be the best plug-in on the planet starting April. Yeah, yeah, only up to 15 miles EV, but 49 after that. Guarantee you the short hops to the corner store won't ding your FE one iota.

Well, w/incentives they were not that bad. 2011 Leaf SV was MSRP of $32,780 (I believe not including $820 destination charge) - $7500 Federal tax credit - $5000 CVRP (CA rebate) = $20,280, not including tax and license.

Unfortunately, the prices went up on the '12, partly due to forced features. '12 SV starts at $35,200 (+820 dest charge) and the $5000 CVRP is now $2500. :(

For folks who live in cheap electricity states (like WA), the Leaf is very economical to "fuel" (My Nissan Leaf Forum • View topic - "typical" Miles/KWh figures for a couple scenarios?). But, if you look at some my posts further down, in ripoff CA, it can be pricey to "fuel".
