well, i'm enjoying that DH is finishing up his tool sorting, but not quite so ecstatic that they're all over the house and it's holding up some of my plans.

It's good to know I'm not the only one who does this.

The next poster could use a roll-away tool chest but has nowhere to put it.

I bought some Keen sandals earlier this fall when they were on sale but since there are no tidepools nearby they probably won't be getting wet anytime soon.

The next poster cut out today's Dilbert cartoon to post it on the fridge.

Ha, Ha! I missed that one but I'll send it to my son who just landed an internship as an engineering student for Tropicana. I copied a different one to show my fellow teachers during a presentation tomorrow. Parent conferences are tomorrow night so I'm going to be the "unpopular one" for one or two lazy students.

Nope. I made Bangers and Mash.

The next poster thinks the song, The Long Road Out Of Eden by the Eagles is one of the best songs in years, and makes them miss when rock bands said stuff that made a difference.

Moon shining down through the palms
    shadows moving on the sand
    somebody whispering the twenty-third psalm
dusty rifle in his trembling hands

somebody trying just to stay alive
    he got promises to keep
    over the ocean in america
    far away and fast asleep

silent stars blinking in the blackness of an endless sky
cold silver satellites, ghostly caravans passing by
galaxies unfolding, new worlds being born
pilgrims and prodigals creeping toward the dawn
but it's a long road out of eden

    music blasting from an suv
on a bright and sunny day
    rolling down the interstate
    in the good ol' usa

having lunch at the petroleum club
smokin' fine cigars and swappin' lives
he said: "gimme 'nother slice o' that barbecued brisket!"
"gimme ‘nother piece o' that pecan pie!"

freeways flickering, cell phones chiming a tune
we're riding to utopia, road map says we'll be arriving soon
captains of the old order clinging to the reins
assuring us these aches inside are only growing pains
but it's a long road out of eden

back home i was so certain
    the path was very clear
but now i have to wonder: “what are we doing here?â€
    I'm not counting on tomorrow
and i can't tell wrong from right
but i'd give anything to be there in your arms tonight

    weaving down the american highway
through the litter and the wreckage and the cultural junk
bloated with entitlement, loaded on propaganda
and now we're driving dazed and drunk

been down the road to damascus,
    the road to mandalay
met the ghost of caesar on the appian way
he said, "it's hard to stop this bingeing, once you get a taste."
"but the road to empire is a bloody stupid waste."

behold the bitten apple - the power of the tools
but all the knowledge in the world is of no use to fools
and it's a long road out of eden....

Nope. I actually think Debussy's Beau Soir is the best song I've ever heard.

    Translation of Lyrics

When the rivers are rosy in the setting sun,
And a mild tremor runs over the wheat fields,
An exhortation to be happy seems to emanate from things
And rises towards the troubled heart.
An exhortation to enjoy the charm of being alive
While one is young and the evening is beautiful,
For we are going on, as this stream goes on:
The stream to the sea, we to the grave.

    Barbara Streisand performs Beau Soir

    Wikipedia

I believe Debussy won an award for this song.

The next poster is still waiting for her sister or said sister's husband to invite them over for Thanksgiving Dinner since her sister has already been warned that if an invitation is not personally extended 24-28 hour prior to any event, said poster will NOT be coming.

No... don't have a Mac Mini to move. It probably wouldn't matter even if I did. My cats sit where ever they like.

Yep. Bro-in-law finally called at 10:30 pm to extend the invite. Greatly relieved I don't have to go through a fight with my parents about my not going if the invite didn't come. I'm sure my sister couldn't care less, but my parents' don't see what the big deal is. Although they know my sister is inconsiderate and complain about it.

The next poster is going to have to make a trip to the store Tues or Weds to pick up last minute Thanksgiving dinner stuff. (Potatoes and dinner rolls for me.)

Oh definitely. Wouldn't be Thanksgiving without my last-minute-panic trip to the supermarket to pick up fixings for a creamed spinach and artichoke dish.

The next poster is on an organizational blitz and just picked up oodles of stackable plastic drawers and is rapidly filling them up with all the junk that's been in limbo-land strewn around their apartment for the last six months - especially craft and scrapbooking things. *whew*
