    Actually, this appears to no longer be a technical problem for batteries either. At least two companies have announced nano-engineering techniques which increase the recharge/discharge rates of Li ion batteries by two orders of magnitude. So you can charge an EV sized battery in about 6 minutes.

    Or on the road during winter. Can you say black-ice?

    The AQMD person demonstrating the H2-ICE Prius told me the water vapor emmisions were too diffuse to worry about, but IMO that remains to be seen.
