But YOU yourself admit the cited article is from a conservative source.
Plus when we start talking about funds allotted, what Congress has done or hasn't done. What States have done or not done, How can we discuss this without it on some level being "Political".

It's not TURNING the issue into a political issue, but when the article itself is all about how support from the Federal, State, and local governments is either working or not working, IMO the topic is automatically political.

IMO right now there is no way to discuss fallout from economic policy in the wake of the Corona Virus without it being a political conversation.

Unless you just want everyone to read the article and say "Yup". Which doesn't leave much to discuss.

I've never really thought of the Atlantic as obtrusively conservative. These various makers of charts have it situated right about where I would have put it from what I've seen....

Yep it's a center left publication. I was turned on to it by a personal friend who happened to be the president of a major Democratic club in SoCal.
I like using this site to check sources: The Atlantic - Media Bias/Fact Check

It tells you where they are on the spectrum, but it also tells you how factual they are.

    IMHO:
    • New York Times (all of them) need to shift right two places
    • Washington Post needs to shift right one place

Another thread highjacked by political animals.

I deal only in facts. Unfortunately most other others deal in "fake news," both so called conservative and so called liberal.

the definition of center has been drifting right for decades.

Former moderate republicans by today’s measures would be considered extremely liberal.

Unfortunate that there has been a war on moderation.

So once again, damned if you do and damned if you don't.

There aren't enough loans in the world to keep businesses in business without actually having business......what was that saying?

The cure can't be worse than the disease (but we're certainly trying to make it that way)

The only way to save the economy is to make progress opening it back it.
So..States start working toward opening again...and the crybabies cry....
But, if no one starts opening...the crybabies cry.....
There's no single answer that is perfect for everyone. Crybabies are gonna cry no matter what gets done or where it gets done.
What's right in Georgia or Florida or South Carolina is not what's right everywhere else. Just like what's right in NY or NJ is 100% not right for 99% of the rest of America.

Open the economy...practice good behaviors..get America 'economying' again :)

If someone isn't comfortable going outside of their safe little bubble and they want to stay locked indoors, then so be it. That's their choice, but don't force it on everyone else..

@Georgina Rudkus , you should revise your title, from "senior member", to "Harbinger Extraordinaire", lol.

(It's in "personal details", then "custom title", btw. It always takes a concerted 10 minutes, to find the dang thing.)

Although I am an independent, I guess I relate to the "old style traditional Republican." that you reference.

I an a fiscal conservative, but one who cares about the less fortunate and the poor. As well. I care about immigrants and our standing with our traditional allies around the world.

And, I will NEVER trust the Russians and Putin, having descended from grandparents from Lithuania.

Do you feel lucky? Are you one of those who are willing to "die-off," because you didn't prepare for the disaster of this pandemic?

Unfortunately, you choice to "put food on your table" might kill others, especially your grandparents.

You mean that function is "grandfathered"? I think it might as well be, it is buried...

You do realize "facts" can be politicized and used in political argument?
I have no desire to hijack a thread or "make it political"...but I just think some topics right now, and recovery from the Corona Virus crisis is one of them, really can't be discussed without it being on some level a political discussion. Because unfortunately our government has made it a political issue.

So the danger is...if you're agreeing with my viewpoint....that's Not Political...OK valid.
    If you're disagreeing with me, that's Political--Bad-Fake News-Not valid.

For someone who doesn't want it to be "political" -you admit in your genesis post that the source material is from a "conservative" source. Why even mention that if you don't want it to be political?

And then every other post is some degree of mention of political bent, or accusations of others political intents.

Which I think just goes to show, we can't discuss this issue in much depth, without the attachment that this issue is a health/virus reality but ALSO a political issue.

If it's buried, it's buried and hermetically sealed. I'm convinced it's a forum software feature that got abandoned in an upgrade. It is not where people told me to look.

You need to switch to decaf.
After you calm down a little bit maybe you can start to exchange thoughts and ideas without having to wipe your screen off after every post.

    I AM a grandparent.
Perhaps you need to ask some of us how WE feel about it.

History informs us that economic collapses are fairly deadly too....especially for poor, minorities, elderly, etc.
AS a grandparent I'm also concerned with what we leave those who follow us.....and this also touches several politically sensitive subjects including the anthropogenic component of climate change.....and economic policies involving debt loading with numbers that should be expressed in scientific notation and only used in astronomy.

The rest of it you'll have to get from the denizens of the Political Sub-forum - which is where this thread is surely headed......

    Ahem.

Personal Details > Custom Title > Save Changes

Unless as mentioned before, it's a "grandfathered" feature, not everybody sees it.

    (Sorry Georgina)

The phrase "custom title" is not on my personal details page. I used the <cmd>F and looked with my own eyes. Same with just the word "title." (Custom" is on the page, but it's in an advertisement.)

if someone “REALLY “ wants a depricated feature a person with said feature will need to load the page with the feature showing and save the html off in a txt file.

then someone else could log into priuschat download said txt file, mod a few fields and launch the new html page from their local drive with all assets/links pointing here to their account, change the field and voila instant Gary Mildew
