Nevermind lightspeed. Can the Prius attain 'Ludicrous speed'? Or maybe even go plaid?

but is it a series hybrid when it can only do electric? ever since steam engines went out, they've been diesel powered electric motor driven engines

i dont consider that hybrid since no motive force is directly provided by the diesel engine

An estimated 3,522,000,000,000 gallons of gas needed to fuel your Prius, btw, is the answer to my pop-quiz for anyone interested ;)

Probably a few tanks beyond oil-peak???

    Have a good one~

In space, no one can hear your engine shut off.

I think he said something like, "Third star on the left and on until morning" at the end of Star Trek VI.

How do we KNOW there isn't that much gas in the universe. What about all the deposits on Alpha-Centauri, not that the Sierra Club or the EPA would ever let us explaore there. The red-footed, two legged dweezel makes a stop there on their galactic migration and the drilling rigs would interfere with their mating dance.

We also don't know how much is in ANWR.

lol, nice to see some Adams fans on board... :D

Saw the movie, merely OK, to do the movie well, would require a trilogy as epic as LOTR, which would bore (and confuse) the crap out of 95% of people that would dare watch it.

Haha...I love the first 3 books. The 4th & 5th books just weren't as funny to me.

Re: The Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everyth

I saw the movie awhile ago when it first came out and to be honest, I was very disappointed in it.

    ***Spoilers ahead***

They left out a LOT of jokes that should have been left in there. For example, Arthur's conversation with Mr. Prosser in front of the bulldozer about finding the plans for the bypass. Instead of Arthur having to find the plans in the bottom of a locked filing cabinet in a disused lavotry with a sign on the door saying "Beware of the Leapord", he complains that they were "in the cellar". That's suppossed to be funny? What jokes they DID include, the actors seemed to be in such a rush to say the lines, most of the time you couldn't understand them.

And what the hell was the purpose of John Malkovitch's character? If he was suppossed to the bad guy, he wasn't a very good bad guy.

I also thought the comic timing on the Deep Thought sequence was way off.

The worst part was the fact that half way through the movie, they decided to make it into a sub standard sci-fi action movie that had absolutely no bearing to the books at all.

Some of the things that I did like:
The Vogans were pretty close to how they were described in the book.
They included things like the bejeweled crabs and the Antelopes for the people who have read the books.
The planet Magrethea's shop floor (though I didn't really care for Bill Nighy's portrayal of Slartibartfast)
Steve Fry doing the voice of the book.
