Bass (low frequency music) and Bass (various species of Micropterus) are spelled the same but are not related in any way.

I do, however, work in both industries in a way. I used to sell high end car audio for over a decade and I regularly enter bass fishing tournaments. lol

Sorta' like riding a Harley, "It ain't about the music, it's all about the vibration?"

Still it's hard to imagine a boom-boom Prius gliding along the boulevard... just as I can't imagine many Prius drivers that also ride Harleys... or have tattoos?

    ;)

I installed from 94-96. I used to hate salesmen...one of them sold a dude 8" woofers for the door of a Jeep and then told me to stop whining and make it happen.

We made it happen, with a 6" build out.

Just as I'm planing to stuff a pair of 3 1/2" deep 6X9 Pioneer TS-D6902 into the front doors of a Gen III... hopefully with a of couple of layers of MDF they won't interfere with the door panels.

Maybe not as "pure" as 6 1/2s, but in my experience, 6X9s just sound better in an "automobile environment."

    Yikes!!!

Quality 6.5" speaker nearly always sound better than quality 6x9"s. The 6x9"s give you a low more bass though so some people prefer them. You'll never see 6x9"s used as a main speaker in a competition. The flip side to this is everyone hears differently so what you like trumps anyone else's opinion. :)

It's all about the bump. :) wickert rides a Harley and drives a Prius.
