No doubt! Have you all looked at what the Toyota CHR will look like? I sort of like it but the specs make it look like a wimp and I don't think it would be much bigger than the Gen 4 Prius (plus it will likely get lower MPG numbers).

I love the look of it. I tend to like when automakers make a car that stands out. If you take off the spoiler and lose the exhaust pipes, it'll look like a regular Civic.
    LMAO Hahaha

The black one looks like something you'd see coming out of the Bat Cave.

That thing looks like a pile of left over parts from 6 cars. They chopped off the back, hung a spoiler from a super bee on it. Butt ugly. Reminds me of the hummer 2, I rented. It was a hummer shortened up, and squashed down and under powered. The issue was they forgot to relocate parts so they work. As I recall you couldn't open the doors without moving out of the way to get to the handle.

Older Civics and Accords are still the top 2 most stolen cars in California. That new Type R could be joining the list... the thugs would love to have that powerful engine.

Looks like fun, if you can withstand the horrible understeer. Besides that, I have to imagine they're going to cost near $50K. So... no thanks.

I agree, although I'm guessing it'll be more like $40k. Why not buy a $26k top of the line Civic Touring and drive it aggressively?

If a guy is having a mid-life crisis, why not just buy a Corvette?!

Prob because a new vette is anywhere from 70-110k and a Civic type R I'll come in at 32-39k...as per the most recent info available.

Aka half the price of a new vette.

And the Civic type R is obviously geared towards the younger crowd that would otherwise consider and WRX / STI / EVO / Golf R / focus St or RS / 2018 Speed 3...etc...etc...

Totally different price range and demographic ;)

Plus - we just may get a hot Civic here in Australia - we've been waiting for 63 years for GM to bring them here (I'm 12 days older than the first Corvette was made)!!!!

But, no a hot Civic doesn't excite me. I'd rather luxury, quietness these days.

Every kid in my area seems to have a modified older Civic or Integra. I hear racing every damn day and night.

For an older man having a crisis, I'd rather drive the Corvette. You only live once. But, it doesn't matter... I'm 62 years old, and the women won't even LOOK at me! I can't get a date regardless of what I'm driving! :ROFLMAO:

I still would like to drive one (and drive it hard) but alas those high revving motors are really not my thing...I'm more of a torque guy.. But hey it might surprise me...maybe!

As would I, and I would assume most folks. It's the (70k base model Blah :p to 110+k) that kinda slows me from having my mid life crisis on a new vette.

But yeah of course I would every time take a Vette over a Civic, even a type R... If you were making the payments :):ROFLMAO:...maybe one day a stingray or Z07 might make its way into my stable..

No one steals a Prius. The theft rate is about 1 in 600, against the average of all other models of 1 in 80.

Even if they get the car open, most people cannot drive a Prius without instruction. But, hey, once they do get it going they can out last the fuzz on gas mileage alone. :)

Are they still stealing the hybrid battery? Right before I bought my Prius, there was a big news report on every channel about Prius hybrid batteries been stolen.

    My Penelope is still ticking…

I think it was just one guy in San Fran who was stealing several Prius batteries.

If middle-aged men go for it, then they've failed. They want to have an entry product that gains lifetime brand loyalty. It's got to be cool with young buyers... so they're happy if we hate it.

I can just smell that those trannys are going to get blown as long as kids buys them Honda's . Heard too many horrible stories trying to race a Civic down the street and they blow thier engines doing stupid stuff. Kids these days just can't have nice things.
