His e-mail is in the advertisement. it is <[email protected]>. I think we should ALL send him an e-mail thanking him for drawing attention to Hybrids. Even if he is clueless. Please explain to him the error of his ways. A math lesson would not be out of order, or perhaps an IQ test.

Just to note, the $21K savings from NOT buying the Cadillac/Hummer will prepay the Prius's gas bill for the entire 13?+ years it'll take for the fuel-cell vehicles to come. Com'on down! You're on the Price Is Right!

I will try to remember my digital camera tomorrow. I drive right past this place every day. All those posts when I'm talking about the lines and rows and overflows of Hummers, Escalades, and other SUVs sitting/rusting on the dealer's lot: it's this one.

This man is desperate and it shows. I'm talking millions and MILLIONS of dollars in inventory just sitting there! And it appears to GROW every month.

At one point - I'm not kidding - there were so many Hummers that he rented the parking lot of a defunct store to keep them. That is, I'm guessing he rented the space since there's a sign there saying the space is for rent and for a few months it was full of brand new Hummers with his name-badge and now they're all gone.

BUT, where did they all go? Were the uninformed actually persuaded by his BS advertisement, or were they taken out to the desert with the EV-1s?

BTW, still haven't heard back from Ron, but the woman in the Hummer next to me at the gas station laughed her nice person off when i said " do you come here often?"

    Construction.

I called a guy here at work who I know drives a Caddy from there. He told me that they recently redesigned their showroom and some stuff in the back and must have moved part of their inventory during the construction. It's a guess but it would make sense.

    rarely.

i mean, let's face it. their sole motivation is the acquisition of my money. how do you think they're going to get it? any way they can.

however, some things advertise themselves. like after seeing how trivial so much of DH's job can be with tranny flushes and brake jobs and etc (and why he's the diag specialist- because they only need one) that spoke volumes to us.

i prefer the unspoken type of advertising.

Advertising can inform me about a product. I won't necessarily believe any claims in the advertising, but if it intrigues me enough, I might check out other sources of information and might even buy the product.

Sometimes I hear about a new product through word of mouth (like I heard about Hybrid automobiles) or by searching for something that will meet a particular need I have.

I used to work at a TV station and one of my jobs was looking at Public Service Announcements (aka PSA) that different organizations would send us. You know, those 30-second or 1 minute spots like the one of McGruff (the crime dog) telling you to "take a bite out of crime."

You have to watch carefully. You might have a spot telling you to check your oil on a regular basis, but it was created by Mobile (and have that brand prominently located).

My favorite was one where some guy in a business suit was going to a meeting to reveal his solution for conserving gasoline. His simple plan was to get everyone to use transportation other than cars, such as hike, bike or ride a moped. Our Hero was driving a moped to the meeting. Hike, bike or ride a moped became the mantra for the spot. Well, in this "PSA" we didn't see anybody hiking and we didn't seen anyone biking (and of course no busses), BUT we did see a heck of a lot of people riding mopeds.

Oh, this was made by the American Moped Association. :p

I love that line! I plan to use it next time I have to fill up the car (probably some time next week or so... :p )
