    So, humor me...

    The forum has had these strange "Asiatic-like" language attacks before.

    But, does anyone know the purpose? Is it just people doing it for the heck of it -- if so -- it seems like an incredible waste of time <sort of like posting in FHOP :whistle:>

    Or is there another reason that I am not getting?

    They are not advertisements, are they?

    Anyone try to translate?

    just a guess, they enjoy causing disruption and irritation? different kind of troll i suppose. or maybe they are practicing their skills for a future, more serious attack.

    All I know is that it looks a lot like the one that happened at cpaptalk.com before they were able to stop it. They are using different forum software though.

    Would it help to block all traffic from China? For a week or whatever? I'd survive, and most of my avid readers probably would as well.

    Indeed, Danny could probably use a few new deputies to replace attrition.

    Maybe if the site could be programmed to only allow 1 or 2 posts per ~30 minutes if you are fairly new, they wouldn't be able to flash spam the place before they could be deleted.

    I'm not convinced they came from "Hebei and Shenzen".

    A criminal in Australia, Austria or New York wanting to SPAM - isn't going to put Australia, Austria or New York - but hmmm, let's think - how about China or India. Flip a coin, look up an atlas - aha "Hebei and Shenzen".

    You have to think like a criminal. I worked in schools for 24 years - there you have to be one step in front of the students too.
