There is a good deal of room. However I want honesty and clarity in the damn presentation. This business of poisoning the well of public discourse with deliberate disinformation is getting out of hand, I get cranky when I bump up against it.

I don't doubt that building so much as a Leyden jar creates some nastiness. Was this somehow a secret? It's not much of a point.

It has that smell about it.

If true, then we need to know- with the information presented honestly.

Why not over the lifetime of the vehicle? Does the car just go wheels up and die on its tenth birthday?

'Cause not everybody can afford a Bentley.

co2 is one thing, environmental damage is another. is there any mention of drilling and fracking and refining etc in the article?

many things need to be taken into consideration

If you buy a big-battery EV as a second car and just use it for short trips and low mileage per year, then you may not save enough CO2 by operating it during your ownership to make up for the manufacturing CO2.

Along with EVs, do we also give up cell phones and laptops?

This is possible, just as winning multiple lotteries in one week is ‘possible’.
Why buy a big battery EV when using it exclusively for short trips?
In the US, and probably even more so in Canada, the payback time is typically 10k-30k miles. Even around town that isn’t very long.

The battery in such a car will then have a longer life for the second owner than one that saw more miles.

I recycle the little batteries, like in the remotes.

    During your ownership?
So then someone else will buy it used from you...since the battery will still have lots of charging cycles remaining and they will get good use from it
