    Not sure where you found this. Nobody really got a truck for $1, so don't fret.

    But I don't think the 2006 Prius is weird looking. Maybe many others do. I don't.

    I found that on a Detriot newpaper I think online. I wonder who said they paid $1. Weird that they would say that if not true.

    That was the rumor that everybody picked up on. Just because it was written in the paper doesn't mean anybody ever actually said it. I know both Dave R. and William K. - the two main guys with their trucks at the vigil. You just can't believe everything ya read, you know? IF you did, you'd still be thinking that EV suck, and that having to plug them in is bad.

    I'm sure those guys would have LOVED to only have to pay a dollar for their trucks though. Gosh that would be GREAT! I would be partying all day and night! LOL Since I live 1/2 block from Ford I probably would even put a sign in my driveway that I LOVE FORD :p (I do current own a Ford RV and a Ford Escort) Looked at buying a Ford Focus but then fell in love with the Prius!

    Hi Tracy, I just noticed you said HI to me. Yes, I do check your thread once in a while as I am interested in EV vehicles as well.
    If only Darell could give us his..... OK at least sell...

    Yeah I would LOVE to HAVE his Rav4.

    Maggie what do you think about me wanting to get a NEV? I figured if I get the hard covers I can drive it at least 7-8 months out of the year. I'm just thinking this would be a cheaper way to go to get the same thing as a BEV. Also it would even be better since it can hook up to a 110 which everyone would help in case I need to charge somewhere else other than my place. With the NEV I can charge up just about anywhere.

    Maggie, An Nev is what is referred to as a neighboorhood car. (Some refer to it as a golf cart :rolleyes: )

    It goes only go up to about 30 in speed and it can only be driven on roads that are 35 or less. (which is all roads I travel on it town)

    Have you ever been to Vegas? Well when I went there one of my highlights was to drive the NEV cars.

    The Nevs can go about 30 miles on a charge. They can be plugged in to a 110 plugin so if I'm at a friends house I can plug in at her house. (with Darells truck I couldn't have done that)

    The way I'm looking at it is that I can get something simular to Darells truck (of course not as nice) with close to the same range.

    So I'm going for price now instead since this would just be a 2nd vehicle.

    Just so there's no confusion here... the truck had air bags, disk brakes, 80mph top speed, real doors and windows, great power and hauling capacity, seating for three. Range is based on FREEWAY speeds. If driven at 25mph, the truck would have a 100 mile range. The Ranger (and my other EVs) are real cars that are freeway-capable. There is no comaprison between a full-featured BEV and a NEV. It is like the difference between a tricycle and a racing bicycle. Same basic concept, but not really comperable.

    Not trying to be snotty - I'm just concerned when I hear about any NEV being "similar" to a full-feature BEV. Won't happen.

    Ok I'm sorry I was meaning the range was simular. I though the Ford had a range of about 40?

    Nothing to be sorry about. The Ranger could (and did!) do 50 miles at freeway speeds. Would do 100 miles at NEV speeds.

    Darell, I was talking to a guy about a Chevy EV truck he had and he said it wouldn't be good for driving here in WI. So either way I go I'm going to have to store it for the winter. Being so I guess a NEV would be better right?

    Darell, I found this NEV that the say the range is 75. How can they do 75 and Gem can only do 30?
