my wife and i went and drove the new body style yesterday. the car was great. drove great, loved the new design but to me it seemed more crowded in there then the previous model. the headroom seemed tighter and because of the cockpit like style of the center console it just seemed very crowded... we went and sat in an older body style and just felt like it had more room... which i am sure is wrong but what are your thoughts on the matter?

jrod, did you adjust the height of the seat to compensate for headroom?

I got out of our 10 after 1700 miles in 6 days and drove the 05 135 miles and the 05 seemed a bit more cramped and the seating was not as comfortable. The center console seems to take space away from the interior but it is a definite positive attribute as far as ergonomics are concerned. Definitely check the seat height adjustment and the back tilt if you get a chance. Per Toyota specs, there is more room in the interior.
