Ah, yes. We still get near-identical Mazda BT-50 and Ford Ranger trucks here.

I miss my family and friends in Japan. Crown taxis gave me both happy (ただいま) & sad (いってきます) memories.

The Ford, Mazda, and Volvo cars shared DNA before Ford liquidating assets.
The Tribute SUV was an Escape.
The Ford Aspire(might have kept Festiva name elsewhere) was a joint effort from Mazda and Kia.

The Ford Courier was a rebadged Mazda. When that was replaced in the US by the Ranger, the Mazda pick ups became rebadged Fords. Except for the first few years of the Ranger; the Mazdas were still Mazdas.

Like hkmb and pilotgrrl I've ridden in Toyota Crown taxis in HK. In my day the red and cream ones were extremely reluctant to drive over TaiMoChan via route TWISK into the New Territories. There, the green and cream taxis weren't allowed beyond Tuen Wan outside of their boundaries. The minibuses from Yuen Long to Kowloon didn't have that problem though.
