I found a set of wheels on tirerack.com but the fitment has me a bit worried.

    The specs:

    - 16x7.5
    - +38 offset
    - 205/55/16 Continental PureContact tires

The offset seems a bit aggressive to me but the customer service rep says it'll fit flush and their sizing system is legit. Any advice before I pull the trigger? They also offer the same wheel in a 15x6.5 +38 which can utilize my same tires. Mostly worried about the +38 offset on a PiP.

    Your thoughts

    it would fit just fine..

I'm using 18x7.5 ET38 (ET33 at the rear w/ the 5mm spacer) with 215/40 tires and it fits fine....

I think they stick out too far in the front but that is just my opinion. I had a set of 15x7 +38 and didn't like the way they sat in the front. The rear looked good.

You'll get style points from the tuner group but negatives in the fuel efficiency group. :p

7.5 inch wheel width is the normal maximum wheel width recommended for that tire size. Running max recommended wheel with gives better handling and make the tire wear more tolerant of high pressure (conversely less tolerant of low pressure). As far as how it looks, that's a styling exercise and no one but you can answer that.
