I picked up my new Salsa Red Prius Package 4 (with added cd changer) on Saturday during my lunch (2)hour. Got to drive it back to work and then spent the afternoon wishing I could go out and play!

I haven't found this topic addressed in the archives. Is there a way to make the MFD stay on the audio screen? Mine jumps back to the energy screen after a few moments.

Also, I am wondering why CD's don't display the artist and title info on the MFD. I thought at first it was because I was using copied CD-Roms (even though I used Nero and had it include that info on the copies), but when I play an original disc, I still do not get the info. Any ideas?

    Thanks for this great forum.

[font=Comic Sans MS:faa2befa00]Congratulations on your new car! I bet you've driven some since Saturday!

I don't think there's a way to keep the MFD on the Audio screen. Maybe the Prius engineers thought Audio was usually a background process.

I have no idea about CD-Text since I make all my "Road Noise" mix-CDs myself.

Good luck and have fun! :)[/font:faa2befa00]

Hey, I just picked up my car on Saturday, as well!

There is a way to keep the MFD on Audio. Under the info button (Display settings, maybe?) there is a toggle that asks if you want to return to the status screen automatically. Set this to "No."

You'll have to poke around to find it, since I can't remember all the details.

I'll check it out tomorrow. Thanks.

Anyone know about the Artist/title info screen?

I don't know if the added changer will read the CD-Text. But you do have to be sure the CD contains CD-Text in order for it to be read. You can't read what isn't there. Most commercial CDs don't have it.

Dont be decieved by seeing artist-track information when playing CDs on your computer. Basically the computer reads the CD serial #, and retrieves the CD information from a database on the internet.

I heard on The Screen Savers that they actually hash all the song lengths to determine which CD is in the drive. Odds are slim that completely different CDs will have song 1 be 3:15 and song 2 be 2:45 etc.

When more than one printing exists, you have to tell MusicMatch JukeBox (for example) which one you actually have. If they did it by serial number, there'd be no question...

To get the audio screen to stick

Press INFO --> SETTINGS --> NO to the automatic transition thingy.

As for CDs, some store-bought CDs won't play it either.

DanMan is correct. Since my CD changer was added on to my pkg.4 I have the single disc cd player as well. Discs do show the track info when played in the single disc unit, but not in the CD changer.

    Thanks to all who answered.

Hmm... I have the "stock" single CD player and it did not display any of the CD's info and it was a commercially made CD.
