"Tookie" Williams, Thumbs Up or Down?

I wish he could rot in jail! but that is not the reality.

The reality is, Tookie has a comfortable jail cell with a television, a desk and some photos on the wall.

As a taxpayer, I don't support paying for Tookies, food, toothpaste and toothbrush, toilet paper, clothes, comb, blanket, pillow, television, radio, electricity, water, recreation equipment and the many other perks he recieves on Death Row.

If you really are against the death penalty! Why don't you go get some signatures on some petitions and start to change the death penalty law in the State of California. If you get enough signatures on the petitions maybe you can get the initiative on the California state ballot for the 2006 November statewide election.

 

Not sure on this specific case, but most of the analysis of death row inmates show that it is much more expensive to put a man on death row, pay for his appeals, and then kill him than it is to put him in for life without possibility of parole (LWOP).

 

Its was probably difficult to commute the sentence of someone who said "I didn't do it but if I did do it then I redeemed myself."

It was reported on the local radio the plan was first get the sentence commuted, next get him released.

 

It's night time in California now and the warden will tuck Tookie in bed soon.

Not a bad start to my 2nd wedding anniversary. Saddam was captured the day we were married. Dec 13 is never dull for me!

 

Regardless of how you may feel about the death penalty, I fail to understand how anyone can find any humor or joy in last night solemn execution.

 

I'm sure the families of the four people whom he slaughtered are quite joyful that this ordeal is over and justice has been served.

 

It's called a sense of humor. Obviously, not the same type as yours. Just because we've made cracks about it, does not mean the issue is taken any less seriously.

Yeah, kinda when Tookie made the 7-11 cashier get down on his knees before he shot him and laughed at the gurgling sound the cashier made as he died.

No big loss to the world.

 

So tell us, what form of humor does not, in some way shape or form, take advantage of someone else's misfortune?

 

Just 4. I would lay money there are a whole lot more families glad to see him go..

But as to if it was just.. to die peacefully unlike the victims from the gang he ran..

Ok, call me cruel but some one like this should get hep-c and die a very long slow painfull death. Or, at least send them some where else (another country) to ROT in a dark cold hole.

Am I for the death pen. you betcha.. but not no 20+ years... you get a max of 5.. at the end of 5 years you get, the drugs, noose, Sparky, firing squad, your pick.. end of story..
end of life... reboot...

ITA with that last statement. The first part of that post disgusts me. I cannot believe someone could do something that inhumane to another human being. He deserved what he got, and I only wish as pjm877 stated that his death had indeed been long, slow and painful. Didn't he ask one of his victims to beg for their life as well before he killed them? Disgusting. May he rot in you-know-where. Reformed my nice person. :angry:
