WCHARDIN, thank you for your post. RU sure that it's a FIVE TO TEN MILE PER GALLON LOSS???????????????

my gosh, that would put me in the HCH mode!!!!!! (no hate comments please)

so let's make this clear, i can go MAXIMUM of 16" rims and tires (provided that they are NOT heavy steel clunkers) and somewhat get the same mpg's???

I cannot go 17" rims and dream for the same mileage?

    please, straight facts here.

thank you all for your guidance.

Genoz World, you should look at this post...

    Upgrade to 17" Wheels

jgs1564 put the 17 inch Scion TC wheels on and lost 11 MPG and got a rougher ride.

When I went to the dealer and asked a salesman about the Touring Prius he told me that the Touring was only in the Frankie Avalon car. I told him about Toyota's web site and explained the difference. I talked with the guy who orders the Prius for the dealership and he told me that he doesn't order the Touring model Prius because they are more expensive and the market won't support them. I said ok, and went 200 miles away to get my Touring model. For me it has everthing I wanted. Plus, now don't laugh, I bought the Touring because I am on the highway so much and Touring sounded better then standard (name alone). I mean Touring means cruising on the highway, while standard is around town. Whatever! I did know the difference, but didn't really know the difference. Just funny now when I think back on it.

That looks good. I thought about doing that since I did it to all my previous cars. Too bad the side hybrid emblem is attached with a hole in the sheet metal.

    kandyredkoi, those rims are sweet.

what would i be looking at for a change in mpg with those rims and some average tires? i'm not going to get super sticky tires, just an average tire.

i think it would be about an inch taller in diameter, would i loose a lot in mpg???

    thanks for your post.

    :flame:

i went from 17's to just 18's (both factory alum. alloy) and lost some mpg on my old caddy.

if your car came with the 15" and you stay 15" on the Volks, they claim a 3% mpg increase

same goes with the 16" set up as well

as far as going from OEM 15" to Volk 16" i have no clue, sorry

the volks are approx 5lbs lighter each in either sizes

Why, if you couldn't tell the difference? It's a lot cheaper to overinflate the tires.
