Much better, everything laid out in terms that are consistent.
It will be interesting to see how rapidly those numbers change (or don’t) over the next 3-7 years.

That's called a false dilemma. Toyota makes a lot of horrible decisions, they make cars with a lot of faults, and their cars often have baffling omissions or oversights. Their infotainment systems suck. Their paint fails in moderate climates after less than a decade. The lack of power outlets inside cars marketed as "high tech" is completely baffling. Their mediocre PHEV and EV options are far behind the rest of the market. And right now they seem more heavily impacted by supply chain issues than other manufacturers (which makes me suspicious that it's not completely unintentional).

How can they be the most popular car company, then? A gazelle doesn't have to outrun a cheetah to survive, it just has to outrun the other gazelles. Toyota outruns the other car companies. That's about all there is to it. In other words, given the choice, when car shopping I choose the poop sandwich over the diarrhea soup. That doesn't mean the poop sandwich is "good." It just means it's better than the other options.

That's how Toyota is the most popular. The bar is low. An automaker doesn't have to excel to be on top, they just have to be "better."
