Got this in my email this morning from one of the local Toyota Dealers (Toyota of Vallejo):

    upload_2021-7-3_7-42-43.jpeg

They call it their "security shield special".

I can only imagine the cost if you didn't have the coupon:cool:.

Gives you some context if Toyota dealers are offering this service now:whistle:.

Another option for those who still haven't installed one yet(y).

My inner-skeptic is saying that'll be the regular price, they're just trying to attract interest. Nothing like limitted-time-offers and exclusive coupons to motivate. What is the kit through CCM, $160 USD with free shipping (in the States)? Dealership gets them for around $120, and the rest is labour?

The CCM shield for our 2019 Prime was $160 shipped;).

So if we do the math, that would be an additional $240 for the install:cool:.

When @The Critic and I did the installs for his Gen3 and our 2019, we also completed more things in 2 hours:whistle::

What did you do to your Prime today?

Maybe we are just more efficient :).

I bet they don't have book hours for a the cat shield install, so they have to improvise:unsure:.

    One way to do it(y).

Takes less than an hour to install even if you don't have a lift and most shields now sell for just a tiny bit over $100. And keep in mind, this isn't going to make it certain that your cat won't get stolen, it will just slow a thief down or encourage them to try a less challenging target.

I now have shields on both my 2015 and 2008. Any Prius Chat threads about cat converter thefts with the shield installed?

There’s more than one way to be a CAT thief, it looks like……

    PT Barnum was right.
